About Hallmark Equipment, Inc.

Hallmark Equipment's main offices are located at 11040 Monterey Street, Morgan Hill, CA, where we have 3.5 acres of used processing and packaging equipment. Hallmark Equipment was founded in 1986 by partners Jim Birkey and Ron Wilson, who each have more than 45 years of experience buying and selling a wide range of packaging and processing equipment. We take great pride in our accurate evaluation and representation of equipment and our longstanding excellent reputation in the industry.

A lifetime's worth of combined experience at your service!

Jim Birkey

Jim Birkey began his career in the industry in the mid 60s as a young man with a natural aptitude for the mechanical side of processing and packaging equipment. He was a field service mechanic, a welder, and shop foreman before moving into the buying and selling side of the business. Jim is extremely qualified to evaluate the condition of equipment, and this nuts-and-bolts knowledge translates into honest and accurate representation of each piece of machinery offered for sale.
With his partner, Ron Wilson, Jim founded Hallmark Equipment 19 years ago in his native San Jose, California, before moving the business to nearby Morgan Hill. During his long career, Jim has built up many strong relationships in the processing and packaging equipment industry. "Our customers have come to trust us to take care of them," says Jim. "They know that we're honest and represent the equipment accurately."

Ron Wilson

Ron Wilson started working in his uncle's San Francisco contract packaging business after his tour of duty in the Navy at Treasure Island ended in 1966. He has continued to extend his knowledge of packaging and processing equipment throughout his long career in the industry—buying and selling machinery for a number of large businesses until Ron and Jim founded Hallmark Equipment in 1986. Born and raised in Kansas, Ron describes himself as a "Mid-West hand-shake boy." He credits his business success to the many professional friendships he has developed buying and selling equipment throughout his almost 40 years in the industry. "We have an excellent reputation in the field, and we've always protected it," says Ron. "A lot of other companies just go for that one-time sale. We've always worked for repeat business." Ron Wilson can be reached at 408-782-2600.
